Born and raised in central California, she moved to Las Vegas at eight years old. She spent a lot of years involved in the refugee crisis and non-profit work in the city, helping thousands of refugees from all over the world. She has an AA in Creative Writing and Spanish. She is fluent in Spanish, and spends her days taking care of her two children, one of which is a medically fragile baby diagnosed with Edward's Syndrome.
